Getting started with Monitor

Welcome to the Sentinel Battalion. This guide gets Monitor watching your store in a few minutes.

1. Install the app

Install Monitor from the Shopify App Store and open it from your Shopify admin under Apps.

2. Run the setup wizard

On first launch, the setup guide walks you through the essentials:

• Confirm your storefront URL.
• Add one or more product URLs to test cart, checkout, and shipping checks.
• Set response-time thresholds (minimum 500ms) for your homepage and product pages.

3. Add notification recipients

Under Settings → Recipients, add the people who should get alerts. For each recipient you can choose which check types they care about and a minimum severity.

4. Choose your alert channels

Monitor can notify you by:

• Email — using our default mailer or your own SMTP server.
• Webhook — POSTed to a URL you control.
• Slack — via an incoming webhook URL.

5. Let it stand watch

Monitor runs checks automatically every 10 minutes. You can also trigger a run on demand from the dashboard. Visit the Uptime SLA dashboard any time to see 24-hour and 7-day health per check type.
